Our Pacific Island Missionary: Beautiful, Happy People . . .

The Micronesia Guam Mission consists of these islands: Guam, a territory of the United States of America and is located in the western Pacific (1,500 miles south of Tokyo, Japan); Saipan, the Republic of Palau, and the islands of Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, and Kosrae. The mission covers a territory more than 1,000 miles from north to south and 2,300 miles east to west.

The major proselyting and teaching language in Guam and Saipan is English. Missionaries who are assigned to the other islands will learn the language while on the island. (These langauges are not taught at the MTC). The languages include Palauan, Yapese, Chuukese, Pohnpeian, Woleaian, and Kosraean.
